Duties and Responsibilities
• Accountable and responsible for the Voice Core Network design and delivery.
• Design and implementation of routing and switching of voice network interconnects.
• Accountable and responsible to follow the communications procedures in place when handling an incident. Communication is both internal within our company and external to our third-party providers.
• Support management of the relevant mobile and voice core network element vendors.
• Responsible to drive problems to resolution, collaboratively working with the different divisions of the company.
• Responsible for configuration and maintenance of GSM core network elements.
• Engineering support for commissioning, integration, system acceptance testing and lab testing for Voice Core Network elements.
• Perform voice network monitoring and network capacity planning.
• Ensure high availability through redundancy and failover implementation.
• Research and recommend new network technologies and upgrades to existing technologies to support business needs.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 years’ experience, especially in GSM/UMTS/IMS network operations.
Compulsory skills
• Holding BSc degree in Telecommunication or Computer Science is a must requirement.
• Knowledgeable of GSM/UMTS core network – SCP/IN, SBC, GMSC/MGW, SMSC and USSDGW platforms.
• Strong experience with Interconnect SBCs, GMSCs and Intelligent Networks in a highly performant carrier architecture.
• Circuit switched communications protocols such as SS7 (including SCCP, TCAP, MAP and CAMEL phases 1 to 4), SCTP (SIGTRAN), Diameter, including ability to design and configure voice and messaging flows.
• Voice SIP / RTP, ISUP and voice convergence technologies, including IMS (including VoLTE and VoWiFi).
• Knowledge (general) in Voice Mail, IVR and PBX systems / softphones (Asterisk).
• Hands on with sniffers, Wireshark and testing tools advanced mode.
• Hands on with Linux/Unix based systems.
• In-depth understanding of trunking, Call routing, Call plans, etc.
• Understanding of 3GPP, ITU-T and ANSI standards.
